Mampara in the making

Old Hog almost fell off his chair at the news that Al Jama-ah leader Ganief Hendricks’s idea of vetting Joburg mayor Kabelo Gwamanda was to ask his beloved mother if he had passed grade 12.

But then again, perhaps we take poor Hendricks far more seriously than he takes himself and, well, the R70bn Joburg budget.

On a recent call with Power FM to explain Gwamanda’s suitability as a mayor, Hendricks unleashed his verbal diarrhea on morning host Thabiso Tema, telling the experienced broadcaster he wasn’t born 13 years ago. This, folks, is what leadership has become by 2023 standards!

Hendricks is already teetering on the brink of his mamparaness. Watch this space …
