Independent TV critic Thinus Ferreira, right, ranks the SA versions of Housewives from best to worst

1. DURBAN: This set the standard. It was a show and tell. It’s by far the best in terms of casting. 2. JOHANNESBURG: The cast went so crazy that the show got canned back in 2021. Now there’s a whole new cast. 3. WINELANDS: Some production issues make you realise it’s scripted. 4. PRETORIA: They talk about wealth; they don’t show it. It’s far too conservative for the format. 5. GQEBERHA: In the first episode one of the ladies hosts a dinner party with plastic Mr Price wine glasses. That’s not my idea of rich. 6. CAPE TOWN: This is the worst — they simply weren’t rich enough.
